Crossway Maroondah Day of Prayer

Rejoice always,  pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
(Thessalonians 5:16-18)
As we move towards planting Crossway Maroondah, we commit to have Jesus Christ front and centre of all that we are planning and doing. We want to be lead by Him each step of the way, therefore we are committing to spend a day in prayer.
On November 26th we are going to pray continuously from Sunrise (6am) to Sunset (8pm). In 30 minute slots (from the location of your choice) we are going to share the load in praying throughout the day. To add your prayers, please register to cover one or more 30 minute slots:
If you want to be part of Crossway Maroondah’s day of prayer, please fill the form below.

Prayer is basically connecting with God. It’s key to us communicating and developing an intimate relationship with Him.

Prayer can also be defined as “practicing the presence of God” and drawing near to Him (James 4:8).

In prayer, we can bring our needs and requests to God (Philippians 4:6-7) and seek Him ( Jeremiah 29:13).

Prayer is vital to our spiritual health.

You can connect with God in a number of different ways. Here are four suggestions.

1. ASK (Ask, Seek Knock)

Ask
Ask God what He wants to show you. Ask God for things you may need or that you bring before Him in Prayer. Be creative and open about all that is on your heart.

Seek
Seek God’s presence and His thoughts. Look to Him and praise Him for who He is.

Knock
Be bold and ask God to answer prayer for your friends, family, work colleagues. Pray for leaders, the Church and the nations. Pray expectantly!

2. Use the Lord’s Prayer as a model

Father in heaven hallowed be your Name
Praise God for who He is. Praise him. See him as your loving heavenly Father. See him and praise him as Abba father. Thank God for his greatness. See him close and someone who cares. Praise him for his holiness. Praise Him that He is God.

Your kingdom come your will be done, on earth as in heaven
Pray for all that God has planned here on earth. Pray for His purposes and His will. Pray for all leaders. Pray for the church and for the mission of God. Pray for missionaries. Pray for those who struggle. Pray for family, neighbours and all those God lays on your heart.

Give us today our daily bread
Thank God for His provision and for all that he gives us. Continue to give your daily needs to Him. Ask God to provide for others as well.

Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us
Spend time seeking forgiveness. Examine your own heart and ask God to reveal any unforgiveness that you might be holding onto.

Save us from the time of trial and deliver us from evil
Pray for protection. Pray for your own heart. Pray again for those you know who are struggling to see God and finding it hard to connect.

For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours now and forever. Amen.
Again spend time thanking God for His authority and His power.

3. Silent and Reflective Prayer.

Spend time in silent and reflective prayer. Ask God to show you whatever He wants to. Write what you think God might be revealing and saying to you in a journal.

4. Pray through Scripture

Choose a section of the Bible, short or longer, perhaps a Psalm or a favourite passage. Read the words slowly and say them back to God as a prayer from you to Him.
