STEP five

reveal

The fifth and final step of Kintsugi is ‘reveal’. This is when a piece is illuminated and made to shine. Crossway Worship’s song, ‘Reveal’ celebrates Jesus finished work in our lives and calls listeners to see all God has placed before them.

Isaiah 43:19

See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
    and streams in the wasteland.

Alive

Fully alive

Full of hope

Assured of love

There is a future for a broken vessel

There is more when a person is lovingly reassembled

The pieces are restored

Yes the cracks are visible

But I shine now

I’m renewed

He has done a new thing

Streams flowing from him to me

Now through me to others

The wasteland that was

Now embodied by his presence

I’m a masterpiece

Stronger

Resilient

The work that’s been done was not rushed

It was perfect

Perfectly timed

Perfectly crafted

Artistic perfection

He looks upon me with delight

His new creation

Unique and improved

Restored

Recovered

Repaired

Reinforced

Refined

Beautifully lined with his pure gold

What hope now exists if I can be me

This new version

This new creation

With a future

With a hope

With him.

ABOUT

KINTSUGI

Kintsugi (金継ぎ, “golden joinery”) is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage with lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum. It literally translates as being “joined with gold”. This beautiful artform models the master artist’s work in our own lives, as our Heavenly Father lovingly collects our broken pieces and makes us whole again through the power of Jesus’ death and resurrection and the work of His Holy Spirit.

Do you have a story about God’s restoration in your life?
