Charles Price 2018

Peace is not the absence of trouble but peace is the presence of Jesus. It is not determined by where we are but in recognising that God is there with us. This perspective changes everything.

Discover

Read [bible]Philippians 4:4-13[/bible].
To help get a good understanding of the passage, try to describe what is happening or being said in your own words. Take a moment to reflect and note down what stands out as important, significant or meaningful to you. What does this passage tell us about God? What does this passage tell us about people? How does this passage change how we live?

Discuss

1. Explain what contentment looks like for you? Discuss.

2. How would you describe peace in your life?

3. Paul discovered that his relationship with Jesus worked in a prison cell as well as in a peaceful situation. Does your communion with God alter with circumstances?

4. How do you determine the place that God holds in your life and future circumstances?

5. Are you able to know and worship God when things are tough in your life?

Respond

Paul was able to encourage us and rejoice although he was in prison. This is the peace that passes understanding. What situation do you need to invite Jesus into this week?
