When Jesus comes to your home
Introduction
When Jesus comes into a home, He changes everything. For some of us, home has been a place of love and safety; for others, it has been marked by struggle, pain, or even abuse. The good news is that a different narrative can be created when Jesus comes to your home. He offers not only physical healing, but also emotional and relational healing, helping us to see one another as people created in God’s image. This perspective changes the way we relate: with respect, mutual submission, service, and hospitality. In this way, our homes can become places where God is praised and people find welcome. No matter what the narrative of your home, Jesus has not finished writing your story, and if you are in the midst of abuse, there is no shame in seeking help. His desire is to bring healing and hope into your home.

Leaders: Choose the questions that prompt honest and deep reflection. Allow space for both joy and pain. Be sensitive to someone who is or has suffered abuse and encourage them to seek help.
- What feelings or memories come to mind when you think of ‘home’? Positive, negative, or mixed?
- Read Luke 4:38–39. How does Jesus respond when he comes into Simon’s home? Have you seen Jesus bring physical/emotional/spiritual healing into your home?
- Pastor Dale said, “The final page is not yet written.” Where do you need hope for a new chapter in your family or relationships?
- Read Genesis 1:27. How does seeing others as made in God’s image shape the way we treat family, neighbours, or even those who oppose us?
- Read Ephesians 5:21–33. What is the difference between submission and suppression in marriage or relationships? How can mutual respect and sacrificial love bring healing to the home?
- Read John 12:1–3. Mary’s act of worship filled her home with fragrance which lingered on Jesus all the way to the Cross. What practices of worship and sacrifice can fill your household with the presence of Jesus?
- Read Luke 19:1–10. Salvation came to Zacchaeus’ house when Jesus entered. How has Jesus’ presence brought transformation to your own life and family?

Is there someone you know whose home or family is struggling? Could you offer hospitality, prayer, or simply an invitation into your home so that they might experience the presence of Jesus and find healing and salvation?

“When Jesus comes into your home—and into your heart—everything changes.” Jesus wants to make His home in us (John 14:23). Many feel unworthy, but He gave His life for us so that forgiveness, restoration, and hope could be ours. Revelation 3:20 reminds us that He stands at the door and knocks and wants to come into the mess of our lives.
Take some time to reflect:
– Where do you need Jesus’ healing in your home?
– Who can you treat with respect by seeing the image of God in them?
– How can you practice hospitality or worship in your household this week?
Pray: Lord Jesus, come into our homes and into our hearts. Bring healing, restoration, and hope. Shape the culture of our households with your love and help us see others as made in your image. Amen.
