At Crossway we welcome everyone and believe that diversity is part of God’s creation. We adopt an inclusive and intentional approach that is nurturing and encouraging.
We partner with parents to discuss the best way to integrate children into the Crossway Kids program, ensuring they feel safe and secure and encouraging them to engage and go deeper into relationship with God and others. We take a step-by-step approach, week by week, at their pace.
Crossway Additional Needs is based at our Burwood East Campus. As we continue to grow, we hope to expand across other Crossway campuses. We welcome your feedback and expressions of interest.
Buddies Program
For children that need a Buddy, the Crossway Buddies Program provides one-on-one support for children in Pre-School and Primary aged programs where required. Our aim is to allow every child to feel included and actively engaged in our programs in a meaningful way. Our Buddies are trained to support Additional Needs children in a church environment to connect more deeply with God.
Equipping other Churches
Our Additional Needs Ministry has grown over a number of years and God has shown us some wonderful skills along the way. Part of our missional purpose is to help train and equip other churches to become inclusive and supportive environments for all. Please contact us if you would like further information on upcoming workshops or online education.
Volunteering
If God has stirred your heart to serve in Additional Needs Ministry, we’d love to hear from you. Our current team consists of a broad range of volunteers, from professionals who have worked for many years as specialists in the field, to university students studying psychology and education, to those with lived Additional Needs experience or a heart calling to help others. All of our volunteers are WWC checked and trained before becoming active members on our team.
