Missionary Profile: Karin

After becoming a follower of Jesus, I knew I was about to embark on the journey of a lifetime. As God did one miracle after another, my life was totally transformed.

One day I said to God, “OK God you have done things in my life I never dreamed were possible. You have me for the rest of my life. What do you want to do with me?”

God called me to [a South East Asian country]. I left in 2008, believing I would be there for the rest of my life or until God says otherwise.

For the past eleven years I have lived and worked [in this country] and have had a variety of different jobs. I have prayed and obeyed God, one step at a time, and He has given me the job of my dreams. I have a ministry with nine young adults who come from two different unreached ethnic minority groups in a remote village in one of the poorest provinces in the country. They are living in a house rented by myself and my local work colleague; two have already completed college, three are currently in college and four are in high school.

As I disciple these young adults, it’s such a joy and privilege to watch them grow in their faith. My vision is to see them fall in love with Jesus, becoming loving, obedient and passionate disciples that multiply and share Jesus with their families, friends, villages and beyond, so that whole families and their communities are transformed and changed by the power of the Holy Spirit.

I am so very grateful for Crossway’s support and prayers over the last eleven years. Without it this vision could not become a reality. With it let’s watch and wait to see what God will do!
