24/7 Prayer

Here at Crossway it is our desire to have Jesus front and centre of everything we do. We acknowledge God’s grace and favour in the past and want to press into all He has for us in the future. We believe the best way to do this is to saturate our church with prayer. Our initial goal is to achieve 24/7 prayer coverage from May 22nd to June 30th 2023.

Be part of 24/7 Prayer online or in the Prayer Room:

Rejoice always,  pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
– Thessalonians 5:16-18

24-7 Prayer is an international, interdenominational prayer movement, with a vision to revive the church and rewire the culture through non-stop night and day prayer. It started in 1999 when a simple, student-led prayer vigil went viral and groups all over the world joined in to pray.

You can pray for as long or as little time as you like, wherever you want to, at church, at home or while you are working. It’s up to you. We encourage you to be creative in the way you engage with God.

The Prayer Room is available 24/7 both day and night for individual and group bookings.

We encourage everyone to use this opportunity to pray. If you want to come overnight, we recommend that you come with someone else. Prayer points will be posted around the Prayer Room, or please pray as you feel led by the Holy Spirit.

From May 22nd to June 30th 2023 an online booking system will be available and registrations will be accepted in that time frame.

Let’s all embrace what God is doing and join with him to see Jesus gloried in our midst.

Simply stated, prayer is connecting with God. It’s key to us communicating and developing an intimate relationship with Him.

You can connect with God in many ways. Here are four suggestions:

1. ASK (Ask, Seek, Knock)

Ask
Ask God what He wants to show you. Ask God for things you need and share your concerns with Him. Be creative and open about all that is on your heart.

Seek
Seek God’s presence and His thoughts. Look to Him and praise Him for who He is.

Knock
Be bold and ask God to answer prayer for your friends, family, work colleagues. Pray for leaders, the Church and the nations. Pray expectantly!

2. Use the Lord’s Prayer as a model

Father in heaven hallowed be your Name
Praise God for who He is. Praise him. See Him as your loving heavenly Father. See Him and praise Him as Abba Father. Thank God for His greatness. See Him close and know that He cares. Praise Him for His holiness. Praise Him that He is God.

Your kingdom come your will be done, on earth as in heaven
Pray for all that God has planned here on earth. Pray for His purposes and His will. Pray for all leaders. Pray for the church and for the mission of God. Pray for missionaries. Pray for those who struggle. Pray for family, neighbours and all those God lays on your heart.

Give us today our daily bread
Thank God for His provision and for all that He gives us. Continue to give your daily needs to Him. Ask God to provide for others as well.

Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us
Spend time seeking forgiveness. Examine your own heart and ask God to reveal any unforgiveness that you might be holding onto.

Save us from the time of trial and deliver us from evil
Pray for protection. Pray for your own heart. Pray again for those you know who are struggling to see God and finding it hard to connect.

For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours now and forever. Amen.
Again spend time thanking God for His authority and His power.

3. Silent and Reflective Prayer

Spend time in silent and reflective prayer. Ask God to show you whatever He wants to. Write what you think God might be revealing and saying to you in a journal.

4. Pray through Scripture

Choose a section of the Bible, short or longer, perhaps a Psalm or a favourite passage. Read the words slowly and say them back to God as a prayer from you to Him.
