Crossway Pastoral Counselling is a ministry which aims to provide a service for both the Church and the general community. It does this through careful and balanced counselling - integrating psychology with theology, as led by the Holy Spirit. This ministry commenced as "Barnabas House" in the former Blackburn Baptist Church over 20 years ago.

Crossway Pastoral Counselling differs from secular agencies because its primary goal is to assist people to grow to wholeness through the power of Jesus Christ. Prayer is therefore central to the ministry provided. Secular counselling skills and methods are used in line with Scriptural principles and Christian views.

Counsellors are available for individual or couple's counselling, whether crisis or long term, for a wide variety of problems including anxiety, depression, obsession, addiction, self esteem, sexuality, marriage, as well as spiritual issues.

People who come for counselling will be allocated counsellors who are trained to make a commitment to help, counsel and pray for them. Personal details will be kept confidential within the confines of the counselling team.

Counselling sessions are normally about one hour in length and a fee is requested. Financial concerns can be discussed with the counsellor. Counselling sessions are by appointment only and can be arranged for daytime or evening, Mon-Sat. Male and female counsellors are available.

For more information please contact the Counselling Centre on phone (+613) 9886 3899 or via E-mail: counselling@crossway.org.au

The principal aim of Crossway Pastoral Counselling is to make disciples of Jesus Christ and to assist people towards Godly maturity and wholeness. Our particular goal is to lead people into a personal relationship with Jesus, while not neglecting personal growth and relationship enhancement.

The team comprises supervised, qualified, experienced male and female pastoral counsellors is led by Daniel and Susan Fengler, assisted by lead counsellors:

Because of the time consuming nature of pastoral counselling, we will be asking for donations to support the pastoral counsellors here. Following is a guideline of suggested donations (more is of course welcome!):

Pensioner / Austudy  $25
Health-Care Card $35
Family Income under $50,000 pa $50
Family Income between $50,000 and $75,000 pa  $60

Family Income between $100,000 and $125,000 pa $90

Of course, we will not turn away anyone lacking finances, but ask that you discuss any financial difficulties with your counsellor.

Robinson House provides a very high level of care and compassion, for women and children, as they seek help in an ever increasing range of needs including domestic abuse, chemical addictions and dysfunctionality.
